A quick and easy recipe for flavorful and juicy chicken breasts cooked on the stovetop, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken by sprinkling both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear the chicken breasts in the hot oil for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken breasts and cook for another 5-7 minutes until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Add the butter to the pan in the last minute and baste the chicken with the melted butter.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juices.
