Delightful treats to celebrate Halloween with fun decorations and delicious flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup black fondant (for spooky shapes)
  • Assorted edible decorations (like sprinkles or candy eyes)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Flavored extracts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and baking sheets: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Incorporate eggs and vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Shape the treats: Form small balls of dough and place on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space in between.
  7. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden, then cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Decorate: Once cooled, melt white chocolate chips, dip treats, and decorate with fondant and edible decorations.

Notes

Store decorated treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. Can be made in advance.
