A comforting dish combining tender chicken breasts with a rich and creamy ranch sauce, perfect for any weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (butterflied into four pieces)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups half and half
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 oz packet ranch seasoning

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the butterflied chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium. In the same skillet, whisk together the half and half, sour cream, black pepper, onion powder, and ranch seasoning. Continue to whisk occasionally for about 5 minutes until the sauce starts to bubble.
  4. Return the browned chicken to the skillet, cover it with the sauce, and let it simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken is heated through.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a tangier flavor, substitute sour cream with plain Greek yogurt. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
