Delightful baked donuts designed with a spooky spiderweb pattern, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 200 g butter or baking spread (for greasing the tins)
  • 200 g self-raising flour
  • 175 g caster sugar
  • 25 g cocoa powder
  • 175 ml milk (any kind)
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 200 g dark chocolate (for topping)
  • 50 g white chocolate (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (fan) or 350°F. Grease two 6-hole donut tins with butter or baking spread to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix the self-raising flour, caster sugar, and cocoa powder in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  3. Whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour the milk mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Gently whisk until you have a smooth batter.
  5. Distribute the batter evenly between the prepared donut tins.
  6. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until the donuts are springy to the touch. Remove from oven.
  7. Cool the donuts on a cooling rack.
  8. Melt the dark chocolate and white chocolate in separate microwave-safe bowls.
  9. Dip the tops of the donuts in dark chocolate and pipe white chocolate to create a spiderweb design.
  10. Allow to set before serving.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter and use fresh ingredients.
