A fun and spooky twist on the classic appetizer that is perfect for Halloween, combining mini hot dogs in flaky puff pastry with creative cheese and vegetable accents.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry: 1 package, thawed
  • Mini Hot Dogs: 12
  • Cheese: 2 slices of your choice
  • Olives: 6 whole, sliced in halves
  • Red Bell Pepper: 1 little piece, diced
  • Cream Cheese: 4 oz
  • Vegetables for Dipping: Carrot sticks, celery, and bell pepper strips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into strips.
  3. Wrap each mini hot dog in the pastry, sealing the ends, and place seam side down on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  5. Cut cheese slices into ghost shapes using a cookie cutter.
  6. Place a cheese ghost on top of each baked pig.
  7. Create eyes using halves of olives or diced red bell pepper.
  8. Serve warm with cream cheese and fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

Chill the dough if too warm. Brush with egg wash for extra shine before baking. Serve immediately for best texture.
